Biography: |
Marilyn J. Heed, born in California, has been painting animals professionally since 1967, working mainly in oil, and has a degree in art from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is well known for her paintings of horses and other animals, fantasy art and more recently, panflutes made from wood. Her work is represented in private collections throughout the United States and Canada. She has also won numerous awards for work entered in art shows and exhibitions
Being a true perfectionist is reflected in her work. As a result of careful study and observation, each finished work is accurate to the smallest detail combining a life-like quality with the essence of the subject in her own unique realistic style.
Marilyn's talents also extend to music with panflute as her primary instrument even though she also plays numerous other primitive and ancient flutes as well as hammered dulcimer. She now makes custom Romanian panflutes. Her "Unusual Flutes From The Past" elementary school assembly program has been a hit everywhere it is performed. | |
